Time for a holiday

I wonder if I’m too angry to write for a while? Here I sit, wanting to share songs and words, joys and laughter, but how can you do it when you’re so angry?

I’ve been angry for years. Anger gets change done. But it does leave you very tired.

We could talk again, of course, about bigotry and hatred, greed and selfishness, war and destruction, death and disease. But we do that all the time. And X Factor has started on the television and lots of people watch it. It is transfer deadline day in the Premier League and the hideous obscenity of the sums of money involved makes me feel genuinely sick – and lots of people watch it.

I know you’re there. I love it that you read and share. Thank you. I still believe in right against wrong, the common good against the individual gain, love not war. But of course, I’m just naïve and there’s really no point making a fuss. Come friendly bombs…

I saw two kingfishers on the river yesterday, the first of the year. My dog wants a walk. I think I’ll have a holiday.
